The deserts of Southern Nevada and California were the inspiration behind this trio of medium-easy duets for vibraphone and/or marimba. The individual pieces may be performed individually or in various combinations. Composer Alex Stopa transports us to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country with these lyrical, accessible works.

Three Scenes from the Desert contains the following individual duets:

  1. Waltz for a Rainy Day (3:20) (duet for marimba and vibraphone)
  2. Red Rock Canyon (1:50) (duet for two players on one marimba)
  3. Desert Sunrise (3:10) (duet for two players on one vibraphone)

This piece requires one vibraphone, and one 4.3-octave (low A) marimba
