Kevin Welborn holds bachelor's and master's degrees in music education from The University of Southern Mississippi. Growin up in Mississippi, he has taught, adjudicated, and given clinics to many high school and colleg bands throughout the southeast. He was a member of both the Carolina Crown and Santa Clara Vanguard drum & bugle corps, playing snare drum for both organizations.
Welborn has been on the percussion staff for the Troopers Drum & Bugle corps since their return to DCI in 2007. He has been the percussion caption head for The Troopers since 2009.
Kevin now resides in Ridgeland, MS, where he is the full-time director of percussion for the Clinton Public School District. He proudly endorses and is an artist/clinician for Pearl/Adams, Innovative Percussion, and Evans drumheads.
