Chris Clark

Chris is a graduate from both Baylor University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and DePaul University where he received his Master’s in Jazz Pedagogy. While at school, Mr. Clark studied trumpet with Barry Hopper and Wiff Rudd, as well as studied jazz composition with Alex Parker and Tom Matta.

Aside from teaching, Chris is an active composer, arranger, and performer. With his publishing company, C3 Compositions, Mr. Clark has written several pieces for jazz ensemble, wind band, percussion ensemble, and orchestra. His works have been performed nation-wide and featured twice at TMEA as well as the Midwest Band Convention and JEN Conference. In addition to writing, Mr. Clark composes for and directs the C3 Big Band, which is a 18-piece professional Jazz Ensemble in the Dallas area as well as his small group C3 Jazztet. Under his direction, the big band has recorded two full-length albums, “Personifications” and “Straight Eighths.” Mr. Clark also performs as a Bell Trumpet artist regularly in both the jazz and classical arenas in the DFW area.


Chris Clark is an Associate Director of Bands at Rockwall High School where he teaches 2 concert bands, 2 jazz ensembles, and assists with the marching band. 


Mr. Clark, his wife, Christiana, and their two children Abby and Noah enjoy traveling and being with their friends and family when not chauffeuring their kids around to rehearsals and events.
