Nicholas V. Hall

Nicholas V. Hall (b. 1991) is an active composer, percussionist, educator, and arranger. Drawing inspiration from his percussive background by combining rhythmic diversity with an innate sense of internal time, his music has been called “beautifully ambient” with “smooth and rich dynamics of the timbre sonorities” with “strong rhythmic vitality and clear textures." This fusion is the foundation for his series of percussion duets, "Motions," which continues to develop and receive performances worldwide.

As a percussionist, Nicholas has performed as an ensemble member within a variety of ensembles, including the Socially Distant Orchestra, Cisum Percussion, Cadets Winter Percussion, and LoopHouse, and as a featured soloist with the LIU Post Symphony Orchestra and the North Shore Symphony Orchestra. He is also an active educator and works as an instructor and arranger for the Roslyn High School marching band. Nicholas has previously worked with the Long Island Sunrisers, East Lyme High School, and Division Avenue High School.

Nicholas is the past artistic director and composer in residence of Cisum Percussion, proudly endorses Vic Firth Sticks and Mallets and DREAM Cymbals and Gongs, and holds a Master of Music degree in Music Theory and Composition from New York University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Music from Long Island University.
