Eric Rodis

Eric Rodis is an active performer, composer, and educator out of San Antonio, Texas.  He was introduced to percussion studies in the fifth grade and almost immediately started writing music.  He began formally studying composition and music theory in high school and for his senior year was accepted at the North East School of the Arts.  There he was given the opportunity to write for small ensembles, stage productions, and film, including scores for two feature length movies and a half dozen short films and animations.  He continued his composition studies into college, and as a freshman his entry in the Percussive Arts Society 2002 Composition Contest won third prize.  Throughout his university years he continued scoring student films and writing for small ensembles. In 2005 he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Music from the University of North Texas.

Eric currently performs with the San Antonio Wind Symphony, the Heart of Texas Concert Band, and is a civilian adjunct performer with the U.S. Air Force Band of the West.  He is a private instructor and clinician at an ever-growing number of middle schools and high schools and continues to write for percussion ensembles and marching programs in addition to film, band, and orchestra.
