Aaron Trewitt

Aaron Trewitt is a percussionist, music educator and composer based in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Aaron completed his Bachelors of Music Education at Southern Methodist University in 2011, where he studied with Doug Howard and Kalman Cherry of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Other mentors include Ed Smith, Drew Lang, Jon Lee, Jamal Mohamed, and John Bryant. Aaron has performed in various settings across Texas, including under the baton of Dr. Jack Delaney and Dr. Paul Phillips with the Meadows Wind Ensemble and Meadows Symphony Orchestra respectively. Notable performances include the premiere of Eric Ewazen’s The Eternal Dance of Life with NEXUS and the Meadows Wind Ensemble at the 2008 PASIC and the premiere of G. Bradley Bodine’s Namaste: Concerto for Marimba and Percussion Ensemble alongside soloist Drew Lang. Since 2012, Aaron has held the position of Assistant Band Director at Trinity Springs Middle School in Keller, TX, where he continues to pursue his passion for arts education and outreach.
