Description

Funny Folks, by W.C. Powell, is a simple, catchy, and upbeat ragtime piece arranged for solo xylophone and marimba quartet by Ralph Hicks. The xylophone part is characterized by a largely single line melody, with very few double stops, and no rolls shorter than a quarter note. The simplicity of the xylophone part makes it accessible to most beginning to intermediate mallet players and is a perfect introduction to the genre. Funny Folks can also be found in The Golden Age of Ragtime, a compilation of five classic ragtime pieces arranged by Ralph Hicks and Eric Rath!
