Duda Moura

Born in São Paulo in the southeast of Brazil, Duda Moura has appeared in a variety of studio and live settings with artists such as Maria Creuza, Vania Abreu, Wanderlea, Daniela Mercury, Carlinhos Brown, Monica Salmaso, El Batukàda, and Toquinho. He has appeared on Globo Television with Ivete Sangalo, Bezerra da Silva, Fagner, Elba Ramalho, and many others. "Pure Brazilian Beats" is the title of his sampling CD of Brazilian rhythms, released in 2002 by Zero-G for worldwide distribution. He is also the author of two other drum books, "Bateria Ouvir & Tocar," Volumes 1 and 2.

Currently, Duda works in his own recording studio as producer, where he also teaches drums, besides he is drummer of the band Tropic Bossa, and coordinate the drums and percussion course in a social project ONG Amigos do Bem.



Grooves do Brasil (literally Grooves of Brazil) is designed to give drummers a great introduction to the unique flavor of Brazilian music. Renowned drummer Duda Moura introduces each style along with native instrument transcriptions and then shows the reader how to apply these grooves around the drumkit.
