Erin Duke

Erin Duke is an active performer and aspiring educator in the Southern California area. Erin has completed percussion performance and composition degrees from Azusa Pacific University under the instruction of Bill Schlitt and Michael Lee, respectively. Currently Erin is in the pursual of her Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting still at APU, but under the instruction of Dr. John Burdett. In a teaching capacity, Erin has held positions at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, California School of the Arts, San Gabriel Valley, Citrus College and Impulse Drum and Bugle Corps. She is a member of the Percussive Arts Society (PAS) and the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). As a composer, Erin specializes in writing for percussion, some of her work having made the state percussion repertoire list in both Missouri and Indiana and has been featured in the Percussive Notes journal. Additionally, Erin has dedicated most of her compositional studies to orchestrating works classic orchestral repertoire for the modern wind band, but has now begun expanding her portfolio of music for solo and ensemble percussion. Erin has worked closely with renown composers such as Adam Schoenberg, Ron Nelson and film orchestrator Patrick Russ, in a variety of aspects. As of late, Erin has been awarded two conducting fellowships being the CBDNA Mike Moss Study Grant and the inaugural Frost Young Women Conductors' Symposium.
