Ian T. Jones

Ian T. Jones is a composer and percussionist from Mebane, NC. Currently, he is studying at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro under the direction of Drs. Eric Willie, Mark Engebretson, and Alejandro Rutty.

An avid performer, Ian has performed at PASIC 2021, has played in the UNCG Wind Ensemble, and consistently premieres new student works. Additionally, he attended the 2019 North Carolina Governor’s School West where he studied under esteemed conductor Orlando Cela and percussionist Peter Zlotnick. Ian’s influence for music tends to lean towards a psychedelic nature while employing some conventional compositional techniques, creating works which push the boundaries of music while still being accessible to the listeners.
