Written in the spirit of early 90's warmups (only in 7/8 this time!), the piece goes from single-hand sections to chop-busting hybrid rudiment phrases the whole family can enjoy…especially Uncle Ted! Instrumentation

  • Marching snare drums
  • Marching tenors
  • Marching bass drums

This 60-second warmup was heard played by the Santa Clara Vanguard drumline in 2002 written by David Reeves as a tribute to drum corps icon Ralph Hardimon, who shaped much of what people know today as the SCV percussion sound. Ralph Speak is a rhythmically complex piece which requires both chops and finesse to perform. For drumlines with brains and brawn, this piece is sure to lay it on the line!
