Mendel Lee

Mendel Lee is a composer, musician, and Innovative Percussion-sponsored Educational Artist residing in New Orleans, LA. Mendel is the Operations Manager and Percussion Instructor of the Tulane University Marching Band in New Orleans, LA, the Lead Music Engineer of Galaxy Interactive, LLC, in Springfield, OR, and the founder and musical director of nienteForte, a contemporary music concert series at Tulane.

Thanks to his experience as a member of the West Chester University Marching Band and the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps and as an instructor of corps including the Jersey Surf and the Glassmen, Mendel has seen success as a creative designer and instructor for high school and collegiate marching bands. As creative designer for Hermiston High School‰'s Marching Band, he celebrated the program‰'s first finals placement. During his tenure with the Tulane University Marching Band, he was involved in the 2009 New Orleans Saints Super Bowl Victory Parade, the 2011 Wheel of Fortune College Week broadcast, and the 2013 Fox and Friends Super Bowl Week broadcast.

Acclaimed for his creative vision as a composer and artist, Mendel is also an advocate of music technology. He has composed numerous interactive works for computer and live performer as well as interactive installations that employ motion sensors. He has also been a pioneer of using Google+ Hangouts as a medium for performance art with his musical series Shifting Signals.

In his spare time, Mendel is an amateur poker player, cashing in 8th place in 2009 and 1st place in 2011 in the Pot Limit Omaha tournament of the Winter Bayou Poker Challenge held in Harrah‰'s New Orleans.
