Philip Michael Minnis

Philip Michael Minnis has been a band director, music teacher, and percussion instructor for over 20 years. He is a teacher first and foremost, finding great success in writing music specifically for the kids he was teaching. His extensive experience in teaching grades 1 all the way through 12 has led him to write and arrange for numerous state finalist and champion high school marching bands and indoor percussion groups, solos and ensembles for drum set and snare drum, percussion ensembles for middle school, Orff arrangments and compositions for elementary, and countless vocal arrangments at elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Philip is a graduate of Indiana State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Music Education, and of Nova Southeastern University, where he earned his Master of Teaching and Learning. He was a member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps in 1995. Philip currently teaches at Owensville Community School in southern Indiana, where he teaches 1st-5th grade music, 5th grade band, and a 6-8 grade middle school band that has received Gold and Gold with distinction awards in his 5 years there.

He resides in Owensville, Indiana.
