Sean Patrick Harvey

Sean Patrick Harvey is a freelance musician, teacher, and composer currently located in Austin, Texas. Recent performances in Austin include appearances with the Texas Choral Consort, the Conspirare Symphonic Choir, and the Twin Alchemy Collective.

He is currently a member of The Kraken Quartet, a percussion quartet dedicated to performing new and exciting music for percussion. Kraken has commissioned new music from innovative composers such as Elliot Cole, Tim Feeney, and Josh Oxford. In addition, Kraken has created and performed original works in a variety of styles. In 2013, the group released their first full-length album, ‰Still Life, featuring the music of Tim Feeney. Since then, the quartet has released a self-titled EP of original compositions, and plans to release recordings of new commissions in 2014.

Sean is currently a graduate student and teaching assistant at The University of Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from Ithaca College. His teachers include Thomas Burritt, Gordon Stout, Conrad Alexander, Wayne Salzmann II, and Greg Evans.
