Tim Perry

Tim Perry, a percussionist with The United States Army Band, is an active performer, composer, and educator. Tim joined the band in 2017, where he has since become a prominent writer and educator in the Northern Virginia area. Prior to joining the band, Tim received his music education degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and his percussion performance (M.M.) degree from Indiana University. While living in Indiana, Tim’s marching music prowess became known. He taught, directed, and wrote for multiple high school indoor and outdoor marching percussion programs in the area, and was the assistant director to the Indiana University Marching Hundred drumline. Tim marched four years with the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps playing snare drum. In 2010, Tim competed in Percussive Arts Society International Conference Snare Drum Competition, and took first place. After leaving Indiana, Tim became an adjunct percussion professor at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. While teaching in Florida, Tim periodically toured with the highly acclaimed brass group, “Tim Zimmerman and the King’s Brass” playing drum set and percussion. The group performed over 120 concerts a year from coast to coast, as well as performing internationally in South Korea.
