Taken from one of the many stunning cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring is easily one of the most revered pieces in musical history. This arrangement by Grammy-nominated percussionist Brian Slawson is a chorale work and should be treated accordingly. As such, the piece is a grand opportunity to create a lyrical, sustained vocal style by way of percussion instruments as long as all players in the ensemble are committed to creating a unified effect. 

Written for mallet sextet, this arrangement will warm concert halls with familiarity and would be ideal in holiday concert programs.
